Her Dragon RebelThe last book in the Black Claw Dragons series.Rico and KaraI really liked this book.I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about Rico. He really came across as a spoiled man-child in the last book. He was selfish and only thought of himself. Then his grandfather and uncles lay down the law, and explain to him how he was going to grow up and start taking on some responsibilities or lose his inheritance.He has sensed his mate was living in the same small town. His dragon has found his fated mate. But he thinks by never looking for her, never laying eyes on her, he can resist the pull.Until the only business in town that is hiring happens to be owned by that fated mate.Kara.She is a female trying to succeed in a male dominated profession. She’s the only handyman, handywoman? in their town. She’s good at what she does, and has broad shoulders to take all of the back talk and insults thrown her way while she does her work. Business is good, she needs to hire on some help. Enter Rico. The spoiled rich boy who rubs her the wrong way.Rico is honest with her about why he needs the job. And the more she gets to know him, she realizes they have a lot in common. Soon they become friends, then more. And soon both of them are re-evaluating everything they thought was best for them.This story was a bit different from the earlier books. They were starting to get a bit formulaic. Human female, human/dragon male shifter. They fall in love, he reveals his big secret, she freaks out and runs. This book didn’t go that way. Rico finally decides to tell Kara about his dragon, and based on the books in her house, he’s sure she’ll have an open mind. And she does. She’s extremely excited to meet the dragon. Their issues are more from old hurts and emotional damage that comes crashing down on her. Add in some drama involving an ex, and it was a really good story.The last chapter wraps up the last four couples stories. I was a bit disappointed that there wasn’t an epilogue that gave us a glimpse into all of the couples futures. There were things that I wanted to know more about. Their families, kids, jobs, businesses, schooling. Things that felt, in someways, unfinished.It’s told in dual points of view.No cheating.HEA. This is the last book in the Black Claw Dragons series, and features Rico and Kara. I enjoyed this story and found it surprisingly different from the other books. I wasn't sure that I was going to like it since I found Rico annoying in the last few books. To me he has a "Peter Pan" syndrome since he can't seem to grow up. His grandfather and uncles finally decide to lay it all out and tell him, that unless he shapes up and gets a job (and keeps it), he won't get his inheritance.Kara is the only person in town that people can call to repair things, and she's really good at her job, but she gets a lot of flack for being a female in a man's line of work. Some people in the town are mean and cruel with what they say about her, but she lets it roll off her back like water. After a run in with her ex, her father decides that she needs to hire someone to help her out. He also thinks she needs a man in her life.Rico applies for the job, letting her know up front why he's applying and how long he's willing to stay. Kara gives him a shot anyway. He realizes that she's his fated mate that he's been trying to avoid because he doesn't want the complication of a mate with the plans he has for his future. During their time together they find that they have a lot in common, and that has Rico is starting to rethink his plans. Kara starts realizing that her father was right in more ways than one. There are lots of things that happen along the road to their happy ending, but I don't want to ruin the book for anyone.The story made me want to keep reading, which is always a good thing. It didn't have too many of the inconsistencies that the other books had, but there were a few things that left me wondering here and there. I like that Kara didn't freak out like the other women in the books when she finds out about Rico. It was refreshing to see that she was actually excited about his dragon. I would have liked to see a little more of the other ladies that she was around in the other books, especially Bethany, since she calls Kara for different repair jobs. I wasn't too thrilled with the ending of the story, even though it includes the couples from the three books before this one. It felt too rushed to me, but they had to clean up loose ends somehow. I did like Uncle Perry's comment at the end, and would like to see a story about him.
