Does NOT contain WAR OF THE REALMS: OMEGA as stated in the description. This is NOT a stand alone event like Secret Invasion, House of M, Secret Wars or Civil War. This is the climax of Jason Aaron's run of Thor since 2013? If you buy this trade expecting the context to sit right in front of you then you're bound to be disappointed. BUT if you have been reading Thor since Aaron took the mantle then you will know this is the THING he was building to! THE WAR of the REALMSNow getting that precursor out of the way how was it? It was...okay. The first 2 issues are AMAZING. stakes were up and this was gearing to be the event we were promised...then issues 3-4 fall into the classic marvel EVENT problems where everything has spread too thin and the story became muddled with a dozen mini storylines to follow... there were also moments of false stakes. A character was stabbed multiple times and kept coming back just slightly injured but the lens it was being told made it seem like each stab was lethal (my nitpick)... Finally, issues 5-6 offer a mix of great moments/ imagery and sudden plot developments that seemingly were there to wrap the story up.My final take away? While Aaron was definitely stronger earlier in his run, he doesn't botch the ending or in a macro sense, the climax. But It could have been cleaner/ tighter. When he focuses on a Thor and character moments he knocks it out of the park.Highlights: Thor, Freyja, Daredevil, and Jane Foster.
